This lovingly maintained M5 is a wonderful example of BMW’s change to V8 power-plants in their Motorsport 5-Series sports sedans, replacing the inline 6 cylinder engines historically used. Cutting edge technology circa 2001 meshes with the luxury appointments that the larger BMW sedans are legendary for while the S62 high performance engine delivers nearly 400 hp.   The double VANOS variable valve timing and individual throttle bodies for all eight cylinders allows for a 7,000 redline that can be fully enjoyed through the six speed manual transmission.
