Launched in 1989 as the luxury division of Nissan, INFINITI was created to take Japanese engineering upmarket, arriving alongside the first wave of premium Japanese brands in North America. The flagship Q45 set the tone with a powerful V8 and understated styling. INFINITI has since become known for performance-led luxury, particularly its smooth VQ-series V6 engines, in models such as the Q50 sedan and the QX60 and QX80 SUVs.
