MERCURY
An American brand built by Ford from 1938 to 2011, Mercury filled the space between Ford and Lincoln with stylish, mid-range cars.
Created in 1938 by Edsel Ford, Mercury was designed to fill the gap between an ordinary Ford and a luxury Lincoln, offering more style and more power for a modest step up in price. The brand produced some genuinely memorable cars, from the chopped-roof coupes beloved by hot rodders to the Cougar and the long-running Grand Marquis. Ford wound the division down in 2011 after 73 years.
